# Flux Field

> Skylit's proprietary fair-value line, with an inner, an outer and an optional extreme band.

Flux Field is **Skylit's proprietary fair-value line**, with an inner band, an outer band and an optional extreme band around it.

Candles holding above the centre line mean aggressive buyers are in control. A tag of the outer band means price is stretched, which often reads as a mean-reversion spot. Reclaiming or losing the centre line or the inner band frames trend entries and exits.

## Adding the indicator

Open the chart settings panel and use the **Add** button in the Indicators section. Flux Field sits in the **Overlay** group. One instance per chart pane.

## Reading notes

- **It starts at the open.** Before the session opens, or before a ticker has its first point of the day, the line stays empty.
- **ES and NQ use SPY and QQQ.** On ES/MES and NQ/MNQ the line is SPY's or QQQ's Flux Field scaled onto the future's price, labelled SPY Flux Field or QQQ Flux Field, regular hours only.
- **Also on the API and MCP.** The same series is available from `GET /v1/underlying/{ticker}/flux-field` and the `flux_field` tool in the [MCP tool catalog](https://www.skylit.ai/docs/mcp/tools).
