# Flow

> Options premium traded per bar in its own pane, calls above zero and puts below, with filters for legs, sweeps, moneyness, side, DTE, premium and Flow Score.

Flow puts **the options premium that traded in each bar** in a pane under the chart. Call premium draws above zero, put premium below, in your candle colours. It's the quickest way to see whether a push in SPY came with real options money behind it, and which side that money was on.

Every pane has its own filters. Add one Flow pane for everything, and a second filtered to ask-side sweeps over $250K, and you can watch the whole tape and the aggressive size side by side.

## Adding the indicator

Open the chart settings panel and use the **Add** button in the Indicators section. Flow sits in the **Subpane** group. You can add up to four, each in its own pane with its own filters, and each always follows the chart's symbol.

## Settings

Every filter starts wide open. A pill group always keeps at least one option on.

| Setting | Options | What it controls |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Leg Count | Single, Multi (both on) | Single-leg trades, multi-leg spreads, or both. |
| Trade Type | Sweep, Non-Sweep (both on) | Sweeps only, everything else only, or both. |
| Moneyness | ITM, ATM, OTM (all on) | Which strikes relative to the stock price count. |
| Trade Side | Bid, Mid, Ask (all on) | Where the trade printed against the quote. |
| DTE | Min and max days to expiration (blank) | Limits the expirations that count. |
| Premium | Min and max premium (blank) | Only trades in this premium range. Accepts shorthand like `250k` or `1.5m`. |
| Flow Score % | Minimum score, 0 to 100 (blank) | Only trades scoring at least this high. |
| Sweep C/P Ratio | **Off** (default), On | Overlays a line of sweep call premium divided by sweep put premium, with a 1.0 baseline. Above 1.0, more sweep money went to calls. |

## Reading notes

- **The row label tells you the filter.** An unfiltered pane reads "Flow". A filtered one spells it out, like "Flow · Single · OTM · Ask", so two panes are easy to tell apart.
- **Each bar sums the premium that matched your filters** in that bar's time window, so a filtered pane will always look smaller than the unfiltered one. Compare shapes, not just heights.
- **Premium isn't direction on its own.** Ask-side call premium leans bullish, but a big bid-side print could be someone selling. Use the Trade Side filter when the side matters.
- **Want a running total instead?** [Net Premium](https://www.skylit.ai/docs/atlas/indicators/net-premium) adds bought minus sold premium up through the session.
