# Plans and credits

> Which Skylit plans include API and MCP access, what each plan's API covers, included credits, credit packs and daily caps.

API and MCP access comes with a paid Skylit membership. Your plan decides which
data your key can reach, how many credits you start with and your limits. One
credit is $0.001, and every call costs the same credits on every plan. Each
endpoint's cost is on its [API Reference](https://www.skylit.ai/docs/api-reference/introduction) page.

## API access by plan

| Plan | Data | Credits | Daily cap | Requests per minute | Keys |
| --- | --- | --- | --: | --: | --: |
| **Pro** (also Protege, Quant and Lifetime Bootcamp) | Every symbol. Heatseeker, Flowseeker, Atlas, Tempest (`/v1/vol`), historical replay, streams and MCP | 100,000 included every month | none | 600 per key | 5 |
| **Developer** ($349/month) | The same API and MCP access as Pro | 100,000 included every month | none | 600 per key | 5 |
| **Initiate** | The 63 symbols in the Initiate plan (indices and index, sector and macro ETFs). Heatseeker, Flowseeker, Atlas, streams and MCP. No historical replay, no Tempest | 5,000 starting credits, once; then pay as you go | 25,000 credits | 600 per key | 5 |
| **Community** | Flowseeker and its MCP tools only | 5,000 starting credits, once; then pay as you go | 10,000 credits | 600 per key | 5 |
| Free accounts | No API access | | | | |

The Developer plan is for AI agents and agentic traders: it covers every API
endpoint and MCP tool, but not the Skylit web platform's trading tools
(Heatseeker, Atlas, Talon and Tempest in the app). For those, choose Pro.

Tempest calls on a plan without Tempest return `403 not_entitled`, and like
every failed call they cost nothing.

> **Note:** Limits can change. `GET /v1/account` (free) and the `X-RateLimit-Limit` header
> always show the values that apply to your account, so have your agent read them
> at startup instead of hard-coding the numbers above.

## Monthly API Credits

Pro, Protege, Quant, Lifetime Bootcamp and Developer include **100,000 Monthly
API Credits**. They are spent before any credits you bought, and they reset at
midnight ET on the 1st of each month.

## Credit packs

Members on Community and up can buy credit packs on the
[Developer page](https://app.skylit.ai/developer). Packs are the same on every
plan:

| Pack | Credits |
| --- | --: |
| $50 | 55,000 |
| $150 | 175,000 |
| $400 | 480,000 |

Purchased credits are valid for 12 months from purchase and work on every API
module your plan includes. Promo codes don't apply to packs.

## Daily caps

Initiate and Community accounts can spend at most 25,000 and 10,000 credits per
day respectively, across Heatseeker, Flowseeker and Atlas. The day runs midnight
to midnight ET. At the cap, data calls are refused until the next midnight ET
(Heatseeker answers `402 daily_cap_reached` with `Retry-After`). The cap is
checked every few seconds, so spend in the last moments before it applies can
still land.

## Invite codes

If Skylit gave you an invite code, redeem it on the
[Developer page](https://app.skylit.ai/developer) (**Have an invite code?**).
Invite access allows 120 requests per minute per key and 2 keys, and doesn't
include Tempest.

## Failed calls are free

Any `4xx` or `5xx` is refunded, and its `X-Credits-Remaining` header already
includes the refund. See [Authentication](https://www.skylit.ai/docs/api-reference/authentication#credits)
for how metering works.
